Online support via video and chat

We are aware that many people may not be in a position to attend face-to-face counselling or support sessions, perhaps as a result of time constraints or health conditions or because of emotional and other difficulties. To address this, we have developed functionality on this site to enable clients to access our services remotely.

Online Counselling

Our video counselling service enables users to access counselling via an online video portal, effectively bringing the counselling room to you.

All online video counselling sessions are secure, confidential, and encrypted, which means your privacy is protected.

If you are registered with Horizon, you can book online video counselling.

Live Chat Counselling

Live chat counselling is a more anonymous way to communicate than meeting in person. Appointments take place online using instant messaging.

Live chat counselling is private, confidential and takes place using secure, and conversations are encrypted to protect privacy and confidentiality.

If you are registered with Horizon, you can book online live chat counselling.

Technology

All you need to use our webcam counselling is a computer, laptop or device with a webcam.

Once you've booked a session we'll email you the details of your booking with a link to access your session.

At the time of your appointment just click the link and you’ll be connected to a video call with your counsellor.

We use Zoom to provide our Online Counselling. If you've never used Zoom before when you click the link you may be asked to install a plugin to connect your camera with your web browser. Follow the on-screen instructions and select 'Run' to install.

We use Zoom because:

  • It's available to users with lower bandwidths
  • You don't need to download software or set up an account
  • It meets a very high standard of confidentiality and data security
